What do I need to do before my first laser treatment?

If you are having a laser treatment, it is very important that you have meet the following instructions:

  • You will need to shave the area that is being treated 12hrs before your appointment.
  • Make sure that you have not had excessive sun exposure on the area that is being treated as well as being exposed to any solariums for 2 weeks prior to your appointment.
  • Need to make sure that you do not have any spray tan residue, or any gradual tanning lotions on the area being treated.
  • Make sure that the area being treated is not waxed or plucked for 4 weeks prior to your appointment.
Is Laser Hair Removal permanent?Laser hair removal provides a 70% – 90% permanent hair reduction of unwanted hair. Factors like skin type, skin colour, medication, and hormones will determine the individual results.
Can I have laser if I’m pregnant or breastfeeding?As there has not been any studies proven to have an effect on a pregnant, breastfeeding women and their children. We advise that you consult with your doctor regarding getting treatment or delaying treatment during these periods.
Is laser hair removal painful?Previous clients have said that the laser feels like an elastic band flicking against the skin. As every individual pain threshold is different, the feeling may vary from person to person. All of our laser machines include a Dynamic Cooling Device that provides a constant burst of cold air during every pulse to insure the treatment is virtually painless. Some clients may apply a topical anaesthetic on the area being treated, which can be purchased over the counter at your local pharmacy.
How long should I wait in between treatments?We recommended scheduling your appointments 4 weeks apart except the facial area, as it can be quite hormonal and that can be treated every 2-3 weeks. The more treatments you have the lighter and finer the hair is going to become, and only then your qualified therapist will inform you to how you should schedule your remaining appointments
Why do I have to have an initial consultation?Every one that is having laser hair removal in our clinics is required to have a laser consultation, to insure the client has a thorough understanding of how the way laser hair removal works and the expectations. As well to assess the skin colour, hair colour and medical history. All of our initial consultations require a test patch.
What is included in the Female full Brazilian?A female full Brazilian treatment includes the entire removal of hair in the pubic area including the anus area.
What should I expect after my laser treatment?Immediately after a laser treatment the area treated can appear pink in colour and warm to touch. Some bumps may appear, but will subside within 2-4 hours. Everyone will react differently. Laser will not damage your skin.
What should I do after a laser treatment?
  • You should avoid direct sun exposure for 2 weeks after your treatment.
  • Avoid gym, spa, sauna and hot showers for 24 hours or until the treated areas have returned to normal.
  • Laser Aid is an anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory after care cream and should be applied to the areas for 3 morning and night to avoid any reaction.
  • Re-book your next treatment every 4 weeks or as recommended by your therapist.
  • The hair in the treated areas will take about 14- 17 days to fall out.
